“Something that seems to come from afar, where you allow yourself to be moved by a force that’s more powerful than your ego and all its illusions, is INSPIRATION.”
-Wayne Dyer
I love quotes. One of the ways I like to plant my energy is by sharing them and what they mean to me. The words of others have been planted in me and I find it meaningful to think about how their words resonate with something in me.
I’m a huge fan of the book The Secret. I’ve read it four times and watched the movie twice as much. I never imagined that I would start a business—especially while I am still incarcerated. The idea for Plant Your Energy came to me the fourth time I was reading The Secret. That is what this quote makes me think of. The idea came to me from nowhere and it hit me so powerfully that I could not ignore it. I felt truly inspired. As I would talk about it, I knew that most people probably thought I was crazy, but it didn’t matter because I was following my heart. Something kept telling me that I had to pursue the idea of Plant Your Energy.
When you experience these types of moments where you feel truly inspired by something, ACT on it! This is what the great spiritual and motivational teachers instruct us to do. If you take one small step to bring your idea or desire to life, you are planting the seed to create it. Don’t think that your dreams can’t come true and that you aren’t capable of manifesting what you want. I have earned a Master’s degree and am now bringing my business idea to life from inside a prison. Granted, I am blessed to have a handful of wonderful people in my life who are on the Plant Your Energy team and are helping to bring my vision to life, but there would still be no Plant Your Energy if I had not taken the initial steps to create it.
Whether your desire is to start a business, tutor a child, adopt a homeless pet, or pick up someone else’s trash as you walk down the street, you are planting your energy. Each thought and action we create is like a stone thrown into a lake…the ripple will affect other people. We often think that we are just one person and what we do will make no impact. If people like Dr. Martin Luther King, Oprah Winfrey, Mother Theresa, and Tony Robbins thought like this our world would be lacking much of the progress these people inspired. Any one of us could be the next person to influence the world in some phenomenal way. How will we ever know if we don’t do something about pursuing our greatest desires?
There is meaning to be found in each moment. Take action in your life and if you feel you are lacking balance, joy, or peace in your life, re-shape your paradigms on life and what truly matters. Listen to your soul when it tells you it is inspired.
